Situation – Sam, an attractive but glum-looking woman in her 30s, was in debt and stuck in a rut in her job. She wanted someone who could help her to ‘re-invent her life’. She was terribly unhappy at work, felt nobody talked to her, and her boss’s erratic moods made her nervous. Her debt was mounting and she just didn’t see a way out. Meanwhile, she was eating for ‘comfort’, was overweight and just didn’t have any energy to make the changes she knew she needed to make.

Situation – A large retailer was transitioning key functions to India: “We’re in the process of making this happen and have started to notice some significant bumps along the way. Communication, delivery, motivation and ownership are key issues. UK staff are becoming sceptical as they experience ongoing problems in working with India.”

Situation: Tom was HR Director of a financial services company that was outsourcing key business processes to India, one of the early companies to do so. Tom was experiencing mixed messages internally and felt there was a lack of trust. Other factors were internal job insecurity and subtle & overt ‘blocking’ behaviours, plus a lack of senior level buy in. Tom said, “I want to make this work but I just can’t quite put my finger on things here. I’ve led successfully on previous change initiatives but this one is different!”
