The Mob

Oct 13, 2000

I am proud of all the quixotic and compassionate members of my tribe, all of whom are doing what they believe in, not cowed by what the general mob (not this special one) thinks about it. You are my favourite people in this stupid world. For what that's worth. Thank you for being in my life, though it's not an option any of us were given! Like it or lump it is more like it,

how nice to be able to like it! Ushche, you asked about what my wild bunch does? They are a bunch of 45 delinquents aged ten and eleven, who run wild all over me and the school for 2 periods every Wednesday afternoon, while I try to teach them about gardening and patchwork. It's mostly a time to take out high spirits swinging crowbars and spades; so far they haven't injured each other. My hair is all standing on end just thinking about them. On Tuesday afternoons I have a smaller bunch of 12 and 13 year olds who have a better grip of what we're trying to do, and aren't so many besides, and we accomplish a little more together.
